Paddling after the drought

Postby oldschoolyaker » Thu Dec 01, 2016 5:55 am

I plan on waiting for at least a couple of good rain events to paddle after the drought. It has been like 8 months since most local runs had water in them. That is a long time for chicken poop, pesticides, etc, etc, to accumulate in the drainage's. I"ll wait for a couple of rain events and then catch it after a peak on the way down to avoid most of the nasty stuff flowing down the river after the first few rains.

This is particularly true on runs like the Locust, Mulberry, Town Creek or anything with a largely agricultural or urban drainage.

What are your thoughts?
